The Maryland Terrapins have decided to dismiss head coach Mike Locksley during their bye week.
Maryland, fresh off a 37-30 home loss against Rutgers, fell to 2-5 and an eye-opening 0-4 in Big Ten play.
ESPN's Pete Thamel broke the news that Locksley was fired after a 35-54 overall tenure.
Wisconsin
still has a few more games before heading to Maryland, but it's still a noteworthy change, to say the least.Locksley went 1-17 in his final 18 Big Ten games at Maryland. If you're making a list of the worst losses for the #Badgers over the last 30 years (maybe longer), this one -- Terrapins 27, Badgers 10 at Camp Randall on 9/20/25 -- is at or near the top. https://t.co/l6PpZSuOGS

No one expected Maryland to have this poor of a start, and a seven-point
home loss against the Scarlet Knights sealed the deal for Locksley.
Locksley went 1-17 in his final 18 Big Ten games, and that lone win came against the Badgers on Sept. 20, 2025. Maryland won that game, 27-10, in Madison, in a loss that highlights just how poorly things have gone for both sides these past few years.
A kickoff time has yet to be revealed, but Wisconsin plays at SECU Stadium in Week 11 on Saturday, Nov. 14.
