Through Week 2 of the 2026 college football season, Cooper Catalano leads the Big Ten in tackles.
His 22 tackles are one more than Jalen Woods (UCLA), Troy Bowles (Michigan), and Cam Buffington (Iowa).
Not only does Catalano lead the conference, but he's one of three Wisconsin Badgers players who are in the top 10.
Mason Posa, despite barely playing against Western Illinois
, is second with his 16 tackles, as is Matthew Jung.Both Posa and Jung have 16 tackles in the first two games of the year, but they've had very different roads to get to that point.
Posa had 15 tackles in Week 1 against Notre Dame, and then just one against the Leathernecks.
Jung had nine tackles against the Fighting Irish and then seven in Week 2.
For reference, Catalano also
had nine in Week 1 and then put together a 13 tackle game against WIU.
