Even in the down seasons, the Wisconsin Badgers have been able to recruit well under head coach Luke Fickell.
So while the 2026 momentum was just halted after a 30-0 loss to Iowa, Fickell and Co. have been able to reel in what 247Sports ranks No. 22 in the nation, which was recently boosted thanks to the addition of three-star wideout Dontay Tyson.
Tyson is currently ranked as the nation’s No. 50 wideout and 450th player overall.
How did Tyson get to Wisconsin?
First, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the coaching staff and @UW_Football and @Coach_KC84 for believing in me throughout my recruitment After much prayer and talks with my family,I am officially decommitting from @UW_Football and committing @BadgerFootball @CoachAC3 pic.twitter.com/O3nhTLhfWf

The Arizona native
had committed to the Washington Huskies just months prior, in early June, after a visit in late May.
However, on Halloween, Tyson decommitted from the Huskies and insteadflipped to the Badgers this past Saturday.
Tyson will be joining a wideout room of six underclassmen and 13 total wideouts. With the emergence of the transfer portal, there is no knowing how many names will be here next season.
Combine that with the fact that players nowadays are given five years of eligibility, and all of a sudden, there is a route for Tyson to see the field next season.
Hopefully, it will be for an offense that is higher than 126th-best in the country at 305.7 yards per game.
