Florida State kicked off the 2026 season on Saturday night against the New Mexico State Aggies. It wasn't the smoothest or most efficient performance, but the Seminoles were able to get the 34-17 win.
It was a balanced attack for FSU with over 200 yards on the ground and in the air. The offensive line didn't have the best night, especially from a pass-blocking standpoint. However, it was much better in the run game. They were also very solid on third down with eight conversions on 14 attempts.
There's a lot to clean up for Florida State with a tough opponent like the SMU Mustangs coming to town next week. With that said, here are the top three offensive players for the Seminoles in Week 0.
Ousmane Kromah
Kromah earned RB1 duties, and he did not disappoint. He
ended up with 115 yards on 14 carries, which included a very nice 52-yard gain where he showed some burst and wiggle in the open field. This was a nice performance for him to build on as he keeps progressing.
Samuel Singleton Jr.
Singleton had a very good game as a runner and a pass catcher. His rushing numbers weren't great with 42 total yards, but the explosiveness was clear, and he averaged nearly five yards per carry. He added another 54 yards (led the team) on four receptions and one touchdown, and that's an aspect of his game that needs to be used more.
Ashton Daniels
It wasn't super flashy or anything, but Daniels was solid in his FSU debut. He finished 17 of 27 for 202 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Daniels hit Micahi Danzy on a deep ball, and he had another nice throw downfield to Jayvan Boggs. He also added another 30 yards on the ground with another score.
