Florida State football's biggest win of the summer on the recruiting trail came when they landed four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole, beating out the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers.
He is FSU's highest-ranked commit and someone who can be an immediate difference-maker once he makes it to Tallahassee. He made history this week as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution named him to their Super 11, becoming the first player from Howard High School to do so. The AJC has recognized Georgia's 11 best senior players since 1985.
Poole did it all for Howard as a junior, making 40 tackles and intercepting two passes on defense. He also caught 30 passes for 454 yards and seven touchdowns, carrying the ball 33 times for 200 yards and four more touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder also returned a punt for a touchdown.
He is ranked as the No. 64 overall player and No. 6 safety in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 5 player from Georgia.
The Seminoles have not signed a safety ranked among the top 100 players in the country since Sam McCall in the 2022 recruiting class. Poole is one of two safeties that safeties coach Evan Cooper has landed, alongside three-star Jemari Foreman.
