Florida State just got a devastating blow to their roster. Their top wide receiver, Duce Robinson, suffered a torn ACL against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night. He will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.
Robinson was seen as a late Day 2 or early Day 3 draft pick in the NFL after posting 56 receptions for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns last season. However, he decided to return to FSU, and unfortunately, he won't make it through the entire year and will likely miss parts of the 2027 campaign as he recovers, whether he returns to college or goes pro.
His 2026 season hasn't been as productive. Robinson had five games over 120 yards in 2025, but he's only done that once this year. Also, Robinson has had some issues
dropping the football. Nonetheless, he was still WR1 on the Seminoles, with 438 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and this will make their offense significantly worse.
Micahi Danzy, Jayvan Boggs, and true freshman Jasen Lopez will all have to step up with Robinson on the shelf. So, it will be incumbent on wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr. to find ways to make that happen.
Florida State was already having a tough enough season with a 3-5 record and the soon-to-be revamping of their coaching staff. They'll now have to find three wins in their last four games to be bowl-eligible without their best offensive weapon.
