Florida State offensive lineman Xavier Chaplin is set to be the starter at left tackle this season after spending last year with the Auburn Tigers. According to Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports, he'll have an impact, as he named him to the All-Transfer team.
The other offensive linemen are Jordan Seaton of the LSU Tigers, Tegra Tshabola and Coleton Price of the Kentucky Wildcats, and Joe Brunner of the Indiana Hoosiers. The list also includes Miami Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah, Indiana Hoosiers running back Turbo Richard, and Texas Longhorns wide receiver Cam Coleman.
Chaplin started his collegiate career with the Virginia Tech Hokies in 2022. After he took a redshirt, he made 25 starts at left tackle over the next two seasons. He was
only there for one season, but Chaplin started all 12 games for the Tigers in 2025. He earned a pass-blocking grade of 71.1 and a run-blocking grade of 56.1 per Pro Football Focus.
This is Chaplin's final year of eligibility, making it paramount that he perform well not just for FSU, but for his draft status next April. One thing he'll have to clean up is being flagged for penalties, which occurred 12 times last season.
The Seminoles start their season on Saturday against the New Mexico State Aggies.The game is set to start at 7 p.m. ET and will be on the CW Network.
