Florida State doesn't have an offensive lineman in the 2027 recruiting cycle, but they're searching hard to find one. It's led them to dive into the JUCO ranks by extending an offer to Antrale Newson out of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
"#AGTG After a great conversation with @CoachHand I am blessed to receive an offer from @FSUFootball ‼️," Newson announced on social media on Monday.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder is a three-star prospect that's the No. 6 player nationally and the No. 1 offensive tackle per 247Sports composite JUCO rankings. He's also the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi.
Newson has several other offers from Power 4 schools. They include the Ole Miss Rebels, Virginia Tech Hokies, Arkansas Razorbacks,
and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
FSU's offensive line coach Herb Hand has done a good job in the transfer portal over the last two years. However, things on the recruiting side need to pick up.
