Snap counts from FSU's win over New Mexico State

The FSU Seminoles beat the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday, opening up the 2026 seaosn with a 34-17 win in Doak Campbell Stadium that did not inspire confidence in the fan base.

Despite that, Florida State did earn the win and knows where they need to improve ahead of their big Week 1 showdown with the SMU Mustangs. One player who did shine was running back Samuel Singleton Jr., who looked like someone the Seminoles need to feed moving forward.

He excelled as a runner, receiver, and returner in the game and was chosen to break the rock after the game. He finished the game with nine carries for 42 yards and a touchdown, four receptions for 54 yards and another, and 68 return yards, including a 46-yard kickoff return.

The Seminoles overhauled

their roster over the offseason, adding players to complement their returning players like Singleton, and 26 players made their FSU debut. The group included true freshmen wide receiver/returner Jasen Lopez, linebackers Izayia Williams and Daylen Green, and defesive back Jordan Crutchfield.
