Florida State may have taken a terrible loss to the Louisville Cardinals, but several of their former players shined this past Sunday on the NFL level. First and foremost, there was former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston of the New York Giants.
He has taken over the starting job for Jaxson Dart, and against the Washington Commanders, albeit in a 27-27 tie, Winston played beautifully. He completed 33 of his 54 passes for 326 yards and tossed three touchdown passes. This followed up a 250-yard showing with three touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals a week prior. He's giving the Giants a chance to win a very poor NFC East division.
The San Francisco 49ers picked up a big win on the road against the Seattle Seahawks 32-29. Former
Seminoles cornerback Renardo Green was excellent for the 49ers with two interceptions and three pass breakups. He's racked up three interceptions and five pass breakups in five games so far in 2026. Former defensive tackle Darrell Jackson had four tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and two pass breakups in the New York Jets win over the Cleveland Browns.
Former cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Asante Samuel Jr. balled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ramsey had nine tackles and one pass breakup while Samuel had four tackles and four pass breakups in the Steelers' win over the Indianapolis Colts. Also, former wide receiver Keon Coleman caught a touchdown pass as he helped the Buffalo Bills defeat the Los Angeles Rams in overtime on Monday Night Football.
