FSU Seminoles starting center Bradyn Welch-Joiner was carted off against the Boston College Eagles in the second quarter of the game. FSU's entire team gathered around the cart when he was taken off the field.
Welch-Joiner got rolled up on the play and immediately went down, with his teammates quickly calling for help from the medical staff. The senior has started all eight games for FSU this season and has been their top offensive lineman. The injury occurred with 2:20 left in the second quarter, FSU ended the drive with a touchdown, going up 21-17.
He had played 530 of FSU's 538 snaps entering the game, earning a 68.4 grade from PFF and a 76.0 pass-blocking grade. He has not allowed a sack in 293 pass-blocking snaps, giving up just seven total
pressures.
Sophomore Chavez Thompson is listed as his backup on FSU's Week 10 depth chart and took over. He has appeared in two games this year, playing eight snaps at center in relief of Welch-Joiner.
