The FSU Seminoles are entering the home stretch of fall camp, and several position battles have yet to be settled. With both of their scrimmages completed, head coach Mike Norvell has his eye on two position groups with starting spots up for grabs.
No matter who wins the starting jobs, the Seminoles will have an entirely new starting line, and that is one group that Norvell is watching, especially after they tried several different combinations in the scrimmage.
"Just really the emergence of the five up front on the offensive line. I think we've got a group that's been pretty consistent. We'll get a chance to watch tonight and kind of see where that went. A couple guys got opportunities there with different groups."
"You talk about five, but you
want to be able to have eight or nine that can go into a game and play at a high level. So just who's really moving in that position."
While Ja'Bril Rawls is the top cornerback, there is plenty of competetion to start alongside him. Norvell said Quindarrius Jones has been "really good" throughout camp and that Charles Lester III had a "really nice" interception on Sunday, but they are looking for more guys to "emerge" as guys that can be "counted on."
He also mentions the safeties, saying it's a "great competetion" and a "fun group to see battle." He singled out Ashlyn Barker, saying he's playing at an "elite level."
