The FSU Seminoles are reportedly set to open the 2027 college football season against the ULM Warhawks, according to Kevin Kelley of FBSchedules.com. The game is set to take place on Aug. 28, 2027, in Doak Campbell Stadium and will be the debut of FSU's next head football coach.
The Seminoles are paying the Warhawks $1.35 million for the game, which was originally set for Sept. 11, 2027. The date change comes after the NCAA decided to allow every FBS team to play the weekend before Labor Day, which is currently Week 0.
It will be the fourth all-time meeting between FSU and ULM, with FSU winning the first three meetings by a combined score of 121-54. While the first two meetings were blowouts, the Seminoles narrowly escaped them in 2019, winning 45-44.
The game completes FSU's 2027 schedule, which will feature three non-conference matchups and nine ACC games. They will host the ETSU Buccaneers on Nov. 20 and play at the Florida Gators on Nov. 27. They will host the Duke Blue Devils, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Louisville Cardinals, Miami Hurricanes, and Stanford Cardinal, while playing the California Golden Bears, Clemson Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Syracuse Orange on the road.
