The Florida State Seminoles traveled to face the Louisville Cardinals in Week 6 and were soundly defeated 44-20. Despite holding a 14-0 lead at one point, the Seminoles were outscored 44-6 from the second quarter on.
While FSU did not receive any votes in the AP Top 25 after Week 6, just two ACC teams are now ranked. The Miami Hurricanes are at No. 3 after a bye. The SMU Mustangs are still kicking at No. 24, also being on a bye. In addition, it's now down to just Duke finding themselves in the "others receiving votes" category even after a 28-25 loss to Georgia Tech.
Georgia now has the No. 1 spot after defeating No. 6 Alabama, along with Notre Dameat No. 2. Miami is at No. 3, while Ohio State and Indiana now round out the top five. The biggest
risers, UCLA, climbed up 9 spots to No. 12 after taking down then-No. 13 Oregon. The LSU Tigers are now No. 22, as they were the biggest fallers of the week.
FSU will look to try to break into the top 25 when they take on the No. 3 Miami Hurricanes (5-0, 2-0 ACC) at Hard Rock Stadium. They have a chance to get into the "others receiving votes" category if they can take care of business against the 'Canes.
The game will air on ESPN on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. ET.
