Luke Loucks and the Florida State basketball program are going after some of the top recruits in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and one of their top targets is four-star shooting guard Jarvis Hayes Jr.
The Seminoles hosted him on an official visit last weekend, and he made it clear to Warchant's Matt LaSerre that he enjoyed his time in Tallahassee.
“It was very good. It was awesome actually,” Hayes said. “The coaching staff, how they told me they wanted me there, that I’m their guy.”
Hayes is ranked as the No. 32 overall player and No. 6 shooting guard in the Rivals industry ranking. The Atlanta product is also the No. 4 player from Georgia.
FSU isn't the only school prioritizing Hayes, and they will have some stiff competetion for the 6-foot-5, 160-pounder.
Perhaps their toughest opponent will be the Georgia Bulldogs, who are set to host him on an official visit in September.
Not only is Georgia the in-state school, but his father, Jarvis, is a member of their coaching staff and was inducted into the UGA Athletic Association’s Circle of Honor after a phenomenal playing career with the Bulldogs. His uncle, Jonas, also played for Georgia and is on their coaching staff.
Despite his extensive connections to Georgia, FSU is making a serious push for Hayes. He isn't the only elite player they are going after, they also hosted five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry and five-star small forward Moussa Kamissoko on official visits last weekend.
