The Florida State Seminoles have 15 commitments in the 2027 recruiting cycle. They're now looking for a tight end pledge after three-star prospect Connor Winn decommitted almost two weeks ago. Another three-star recruit, Joshua Pettigrew, is a player that FSU has had their eyes on for quite some time.
They hosted Pettigrew for a camp in Tallahassee last June. After offering him in January, the Seminoles hosted him for visits in March and April. Despite him committing to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in June, Florida State hasn't let up on their pursuit of Pettigrew.
When they took on the Virginia Cavaliers on Oct. 3, Pettigrew was in attendance for another visit. According to Matt LaSerre of Warchant, things went very well in favor of FSU's
chances of getting a flip.
Georgia Tech TE commit Josh Pettigrew visited last week for the Virginia game, and sources close to him say he enjoyed the game. Pettigrew is a target FSU has been recruiting all cycle and had been trying to get on campus for a game earlier in the year.
Pettigrew is listed as the No. 954 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 44 tight end in the Rivals industry rankings. In the state of Georgia, he's the No. 113 prospect.
The hope for Florida State is that their persistence with Pettigrew can get him back on campus again at some point to further increase their chances of pulling off the flip.
