Florida State baseball continues to receive national recognition for the direction of its program under head coach Link Jarrett.
D1Baseball ranked the Seminoles No. 8 nationally in its 2026 Top 100 College Baseball Programs
rankings, moving FSU up two spots from its No. 10 position in 2024. Florida State has now finished inside the top 13 in all six editions of D1Baseball’s program rankings, which began in 2015.The ranking is different from a traditional preseason or in-season poll. D1Baseball’s exercise is designed to evaluate the overall health and trajectory of programs rather than simply project which teams are best in a given season. Recent postseason success carries significant weight, while D1Baseball’s writers also consider coaching stability,
facilities, NIL and revenue-sharing resources, conference strength, recruiting and player development.
Those factors helped push Florida State closer to its highest position in the history of the rankings. The Seminoles were No. 11 in 2015, No. 7 in both 2017 and 2019, No. 13 in 2022 and No. 10 in 2024 before climbing to eighth this year.
D1Baseball pointed specifically to Jarrett’s impact since returning to Tallahassee ahead of the 2023 season. Florida State reached the College World Series in 2024, returned to the super regional round in 2025, and has posted consecutive 40-win seasons. The outlet described FSU’s placement as a strong vote of confidence in Jarrett’s leadership and the direction of the program.
FSU’s position also reflects advantages that extend beyond its recent results. D1Baseball highlighted the Seminoles’ national brand, historic home at Dick Howser Stadium, and one of the sport’s strongest baseball-specific fan bases, concluding that Florida State remains firmly among college baseball’s elite programs.
Florida State is also one of just two ACC programs inside the national top 10, joining the No. 3 North Carolina Tar Heels. The ACC placed 14 programs in the Top 100, including five inside the top 25, ranking second nationally behind the SEC.
