Former FSU linebacker Justin Cryer now plays for the No. 1 team in the country. The Texas Longhorns beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 24-23 on Saturday, and Cryer was a major reason why.
The former Seminoles started for the season straight week in the middle of Will Muschamp's defense and had arguably the best game of his career. He finished with a team-high nine tackles, to go with one tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
Cryer also registered three pressures, showcasing his pass-rushing versatility. He is originally from Katy, Texas, spending the past three years with FSU before entering the transfer portal ahead of his senior season and joining the Longhorns.
He now has 12 tackles in two games, putting him well on his way to setting a new career-high.
His most productive season as a Seminole was last year, with him recording 43 tackles and 5.0 tackles for loss in 12 games.
Texas, which improved to 2-0 with the win, will welcome the UTSA Roadrunners to Austin in Week 3. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
