Florida State continues its 2026 season this weekend, traveling to Tuscaloosa to take on the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. You already know all about this evil empire.

On Aug. 30, 2025, at Doak Campbell Stadium, the Seminoles took on the Crimson Tide in a non-conference classic that saw Thomas Castellanos talk smack and back it up.
Before the game, Castellanos said, "They don't have Nick Saban to save them. I just don't see them stopping me." He was right, as the Seminoles went on to win 31-17.
Coming into that game, FSU was unranked, but after that, they went on a win streak, defeating East Texas A&M and Kent State before screeching to a halt at 5-7 to end the year.
Full series history
Florida State's other win against Alabama came in a 2007 matchup where it saw them travel to Jacksonville, of all places. This was the year that the Crimson Tide lost to UL Monroe in Nick Saban's first season at the helm. This was the lone bright spot in this series for the Seminoles until 2025.
In 1974, Florida State traveled to Tuscaloosa and lost, 7-8. In 1967, they went to Birmingham and tied, 37-37, which is in fact a scorigami! Finally, in 1965, in their first match against the Crimson Tide, they got shut out, 21-0.

Parting thoughts
This FSU team will need virtually everything to go right if they want a chance to win in Tuscaloosa. Last year might have been child's play as it was at Doak. This year, if Mike Norvell and company can't get it done, the Seminoles will drop to 1-2 and, again, the endless, endless question will linger over this team: Why is Mike Norvell still here?
