Duce Robinson’s résumé has never been limited to what he does on Saturdays. The Florida State receiver was named a semifinalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy on Wednesday, placing him among the nation’s top players for a distinction that weighs academics, football performance and leadership.
The award recognizes college football’s top scholar-athlete based on academic achievement, football performance and leadership. Robinson is Florida State’s lone nominee.
The senior has built a résumé that fits all three areas.
Robinson was named a first-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators following the 2025 season. He carried a 3.82 career GPA while pursuing his degree in social science and became Florida State’s first first-team Academic All-American since
2012. He graduated from FSU in spring 2026 with an interdisciplinary social science degree.
Robinson emerged as one of the ACC’s top receivers last season, finishing with 56 receptions for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns. The performance earned him first-team All-ACC and third-team All-America honors while making him Florida State’s first 1,000-yard receiver since 2019.
He has already provided another reminder of that ability this fall. Robinson caught six passes for 135 yards and a touchdown against Alabama in Week 3, a performance that pushed him past 2,000 career receiving yards and earned him Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Robinson has also been recognized for his community involvement. He received Florida State’s Bill McGrotha Award for humanitarian efforts following last season and entered 2026 on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list and as a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
Each school is limited to one Campbell Trophy nominee. Candidates must have at least a 3.2 undergraduate GPA, be a significant contributor on the field and demonstrate leadership and citizenship.
The NFF will announce 12 to 16 finalists on Oct. 21. Each finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship, with the Campbell Trophy winner receiving $25,000 after being selected at the NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas.
