Florida State will have one of the top running backs in the 2028 class on campus for their season opener against the New Mexico State Aggies. That player is four-star prospect Xander Edwards out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, per Zach Blostein of 247Sports.
Edwards had a monster sophomore year in 2025. He gained 2,629 yards and scored 44 touchdowns, plus he gained 211 receiving yards on 17 receptions. He helped the Bolles School go 14-2 and finish as the Class 2A state runner-up. Edwards earned the All-News4JAX Offensive Player of the Year award plus he finished as the runner-up for Florida's Mr. Football award.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder is the nation's No. 113 overall recruit and the No. 7 running back in the 247Sports composite
rankings. He ranks as the state of Florida's No. 15 prospect as well.
Edwards has made multiple trips to see FSU, with the last coming at the end of March. He raved about his time there, just like he did before.
“FSU was amazing. “It was awesome seeing how Coach Norvell runs that program and he has been doing such a good job. They showed great hospitality towards me and I’m so excited to be back!”
The Seminoles have prioritized Edwards just like their arch rivals the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators. Plus, he has around 40 scholarship offers in total, which makes his recruitment even tougher. Florida State will need to show him a great time in a few weeks and continue their pursuit relentlessly if they want to land him.
