The FSU Seminoles are trying to flip 2028 four-star offensive tackle Omari Lawson from the Syracuse Orange, and they certainly have the attention of the Jacksonville, Florida product.
He has been committed to the Orange since October of 2025, but his recruitment has taken off this year. The Seminoles offered him a scholarship on Sept. 11 and got him back on campus this weekend for their game against the Virginia Cavaliers.
It was FSU's best performance of the season, and it has Lawson excited to see what they can do moving forward.
"Honestly, I'm really happy for them," he told Zach Blostein of 247Sports. "Florida State played a great game and earned the win. It was a big time atmosphere, and being there made it even better. I'm excited to see
what they do moving forward."
Lawson is ranked the No. 119 overall player and No. 15 offensive tackle in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 15 player from Florida.
The Seminoles are far from the only school trying to flip the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder, who can't sign with Syracuse for over a year. He now has over 15 scholarship offers, with the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and LSU Tigers also turning up the heat.
The Seminoles already have a top 10 recruiting class in the 2028 recruiting cycle, but they are still looking for their first commitment along the offensive line. That has been an area FSU has struggled, but landing someone of Lawson's caliber would go a long way in changing that.
