Florida State senior wide receiver Duce Robinson continues to collect national preseason recognition. On Monday, Robinson was named to the 2026 Maxwell Award Watch List, becoming one of 81 players across the country selected for the prestigious honor presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football. The Maxwell Award, first presented in 1937, is one of the sport's oldest and most prestigious individual awards and has been won by some of college football's all-time greats.
After transferring from USC ahead of the 2025 season, the 6-foot-6 wideout led Florida State with 56 receptions for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns, becoming the Seminoles' first 1,000-yard receiver since 2019. He also earned first-team All-ACC honors, was
a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist and received third-team All-America recognition from Phil Steele.
Robinson's production ranked among the nation's best. He finished ninth nationally in receiving yards during the 2025 regular season while averaging 19.3 yards per reception. His five 120-yard receiving performances were the second-most in the FBS and the most by a Power Four receiver, while he led the ACC in receptions of 20, 30 and 40 yards.
The Maxwell Award recognition is the latest in what has already been a busy preseason for Robinson. He was previously named to the preseason All-ACC team, earned first-team preseason All-America honors from multiple outlets, and was selected as a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team for his contributions in the Tallahassee community.
Robinson elected to return to Florida State for his senior season despite NFL draft interest, citing his desire to help restore the Seminoles to national prominence. He will serve as one of quarterback Ashton Daniels' top targets in an offense expected to feature one of the ACC's deepest receiving corps.
The Maxwell Award watch list is one of several preseason awards, but Robinson's inclusion further solidifies his status as one of the country's elite playmakers entering the 2026 campaign. If he builds upon last year's breakout season, the Florida State standout could find himself firmly in contention for multiple national honors by season's end.
