The FSU Seminoles suffered their third straight loss of the season on Saturday against the Clemson Tigers, losing 36-24 in Doak Campbell Stadium on Halloween. They are now 3-5, and more and more fans are calling for Mike Norvell to be fired.
It was another disappointing performance for the Seminoles, who struggled in all three phases. They have now lost 10 of their last 11 games against Clemson, with the Tigers winning the last five meetings in Tallahassee. That is something Dabo Swinney takes great pride in, and he addressed it after the game.
All right, but first of all, man, it was a lot of fun. We made it a little harder than it needed to be. Really had made a couple of dumb plays down the stretch there, but give them credit. They didn't quit,
but a lot of fun. This is a hard place to win. I have a great appreciation for winning here.
I've been here since ’03, and I was here when we got that win in ’06. I think for the first time since, I don't know, the 80s or something. And there was a lot of butt whippings in between ’89 and ’06. And so I remember that and, man, we have not lost here since ’14. And I'm really proud of that because I just, the history of this series and how hard it is to win here, at Doak Campbell and Bobby Bowden Field.
I mean, my hat's off to these players. And just again, team-wise, our record isn't what we want it to be, but this team is getting better. And they've been getting better really all year.
Swinney also talked about FSU fans flying a banner calling for Mike Norvell to be fired, Clemson's success on defense and special teams, and more. Watch his full press conference below.
