Charlie Woods is officially headed to Florida State.
The 17-year-old golfer put pen to paper Friday during a signing ceremony at The Benjamin School, according to John Leuzzi of USA TODAY Sports. His father, 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, was alongside him for the occasion after Charlie originally announced his commitment to FSU in February.
Charlie will join Florida State’s men’s golf program in 2027 under longtime head coach Trey Jones. His mother, Elin Nordegren, was also in attendance for Friday’s ceremony, while Tiger wore Florida State gear as the family celebrated the milestone.
The younger Woods has continued building his résumé since choosing the Seminoles. Earlier this week, he shot a 1-under 70 as The Benjamin School captured a regional
championship at Miami Shores Country Club. He is currently No. 133 in the AJGA Rolex Rankings.
His junior career already includes a significant breakthrough. Charlie won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational in May 2025, one of the biggest victories of his young career.
His decision also means he will take a different college path than his father. Tiger played at Stanford for two seasons before turning pro in 1996.
Charlie joins a Florida State program that has become a consistent national contender under Jones. The Seminoles have reached the NCAA Tournament in five of the past six seasons and finished as the national runner-up in 2024.
After months of anticipation following his verbal commitment, Friday offered the lasting image for Florida State fans: Charlie Woods in an FSU cap, with one of the greatest golfers of all time standing beside him as his college future became official.
