Florida State made a move that was brewing for quite some time on Sunday. They fired head coach Mike Norvell as well as multiple position coaches.
Naturally, the first thing that comes into question is the recruiting aspect. At the moment, FSU has the No. 6 recruiting class in the 2028 cycle with five total commits. The third-highest-ranked recruit that's committed is three-star athlete Chayse Brown.
A little over a week ago, Brown was projected to flip to the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, on Sunday night, Brown took to social media to pledge his loyalty to the Seminoles despite the staff shakeup.
"Nothing changed I’m still a noles @Coach2Bless 🍢go noles🍢🍢🍢," said Brown.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is the No. 525 overall player in the country
and the No. 36 athlete per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, he's listed as the No. 67 prospect.
A change in leadership in college football always puts things up in the air when it comes to recruits. So, for Brown to come out and say he's staying with Florida State, with other schools after him and the product that he's seeing on the field, is huge.
FSU still has to get the hire right as far as their new head coach. With that said, this is very encouraging as it relates to recruiting in Tallahassee.
