The Florida State Seminoles are looking to elevate their recruiting, and they are starting to turn their attention to the 2029 recruiting cycle. One of their top early targets is Leland Walker, a four-star safety and one of the top players in the country.
While they have not offered him a scholarship, he is set to visit on Aug. 29 when they open the season against the New Mexico State Aggies. It will be his first time visiting Tallahassee, and one recruiting expert likes where they stand in his recruitment.
Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports has the Seminoles as the "perceived leader" in his recruitment, and said that his trip to Tallahassee is currently the only one he has planned for the season. While that is currently the case, that could easily change
as several schools are trying to catch up to FSU.
Walker has 15 scholarship offers in total, with the Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish being the biggest.
He is ranked as the No. 54 overall player and No. 6 safety by 247Sports. The Lithonia product is also the No. 9 player from Georgia, a place the Seminoles recruit well.
Walker had a phenomenal freshman season at Lithonia High School, helping them go 10-3. He finished the year with 51 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and three interceptions, all of which he returned for touchdowns.
