The FSU Seminoles had a chance to go up three possessions in the first quarter against the Louisville Cardinals. A questionable play call allowed Louisville to get a stop, take control of the game, and hand FSU another embarrassing loss on the road.
The Cardinals scored 35 points to take a 35-14 lead and cruise to a 44-20 win, handing FSU their 11th straight road loss. The Seminoles are now 3-3 overall and 1-2 in ACC play.
FSU was unable to stop Louisville's rushing attack, with the Cardinals running for 397 yards and six touchdowns on 43 carries, averaging 9.2 yards per carry. Isaac Brown led the way, rushing for 235 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.
Here is a look at how FSU fans reacted to the embarrassing loss.

Yes
Ok so the UVA game was a massive fluke.
— BWNOLES (@bwnoles) October 10, 2026
Huh
So inconsistent
Went on a 38-0 run last week. Suffered a 28-0 run this week. The Norvell Paradox™️

This is true!
FSU can’t ruin your Saturday if they ruin your Friday instead. pic.twitter.com/wDZbJzdOUy

Yep
The decision to go for it on 4th down is not why we’re losing this game. We’re losing this game because it’s a bad team, poorly coached, that wilts after any adversity and has very little desire to block and tackle.

FSU can't recruit
When you are getting athletically outclassed by Louisville you have a recruiting/scouting problem, and we’ve been preaching that shit for 7 years now. Man cannot recruit. Period

Make the standard be the standard again
— Ashley Reamer (@Ashley_Caroline) October 10, 2026
Yes he does
Mike Norvell has loser instincts.
— RC (@glowlikeleroy) October 10, 2026
It was a bad effort from FSU
Thanks Norvell for reminding us why we are done with you.
— Eric Smith (@ESSmithPA) October 10, 2026
Is that bad?
The last time Florida State won a road game was on November 25, 2023, when it beat Florida in the Swamp. That's a real statistic.

It is time to move on from Mike Norvell
Fire Norvell tonight!!
— Kenny Williams 🍢🍢 (@klw0716) October 10, 2026
Tony White had another bad day
Tony White might be the worst defensive coordinator I’ve ever seen

If I got hired to do a job out of my capabilities and my employer kept letting me clock in, is it my fault?
