Florida State football has made it back to .500 at a 2-2 record after a 34-7 win over the FCS Central Arkansas Bears, in which they coasted for much of the game. Some mistakes were made, but the Seminoles ultimately came out victorious against Mike Norvell's alma mater.
After the win, Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports moved Florida State up to No. 61 in his weekly re-rank of all 138 FBS teams. He moved them up one spot from last week's rankings.
Surrounding the Seminoles are the No. 60 Western Michigan Broncos and No. 62 UTSA Roadrunners. The Broncos went 10-4 last season, winning the MAC and defeating Kennesaw State in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. UTSA finished 6-6 and defeated FIU in the ServPro First Responder Bowl.
Florida State is still the 12th-best
ACC team per Myerberg's rankings, with North Carolina being the closest above them at No. 55.
FSU will look to right the ship when they host the Virginia Cavaliers - a team they have not faced in Tallahassee since 2014 - on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN 2.
