The FSU Seminoles lost to the Miami Hurricanes 43-35 on Saturday in Hard Rock Stadium, with the game going into double overtime. While every loss stings, this one hurt even more due to the two controversial calls that went against FSU.
The teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime before Miami scored to start the second overtime, completing a pass to Malachi Toney, who then completed a pass on a trick play to put them up by eight. The Seminoles were quickly in trouble, with Ashton Daniels getting sacked on first down before throwing an incomplete pass on second and 16. A false start on Quintrevion Wisner made it 3rd and 21, with another incompletion setting up 4th and 21.
With the game on the line, FSU took its final timeout to get ready,
with Mike Norvell trying to dial up a heroic play. He did just that, with Micahi Danzy getting open and Daniels finding him for the touchdown. However, the refs called a questionable holding penalty on Xavier Chaplin, wiping out the touchdown and setting up 4th and 31. You can see the hold here.
The worst holding call of the year.

How on earth do officials not understand THIS is a tackle winning his rep? @colecubelic pic.twitter.com/15XXlgQEBr
With FSU backed up even further, Daniels heaved it to Duce Robinson in the end zone, who was in a great spot to make a play and seemingly did so, but the ref ruled that the Miami defensive back came down with the game-ending interception, confirming the call with replay.
It was another close call, which once again went against FSU and drew the ire of their fans. Here is a look at the final play.
