Five-star edge Cassell Cruickshank is one of the top players in the 2028 recruiting class, and he has scheduled a visit with the FSU Seminoles.
Cruickshank is set to be in Doak Campbell Stadium on Aug. 29 when Florida State
plays the New Mexico State Aggies to open the 2026 season, according to Tyler Harden of 247Sports. It is one of 11 game visits he has scheduled, with him also checking out the Florida Gators, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and several other elite programs.It will be Cruickshank's second time visiting Tallahassee after he visited on April 7, getting to watch a spring practice. The Seminoles offered the Fayetteville, North Carolina product a scholarship on March 3.
Cruickshank is ranked as the No. 8 overall player and No. 2 edge
in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder is the No. 1 player from North Carolina.
FSU currently has two commits in the 2028 cycle, but none along the defensive line. New edge coach Nick Williams has done a good job recruiting edge rushers in the 2027 cycle, landing four-star prospect Anthony Cavallaro and Jaxon Holly and Meshi Dobson, who are both three-stars.
