Florida State was able to pick up the win against the Central Arkansas Bears last weekend. They did so with 2028 three-star quarterback Chase Curren in attendance. This was his second visit this year, as he was also in Tallahassee for a quarterback camp back in June.
This was his first chance to experience the atmosphere inside Doak Campbell Stadium. According to the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, the visit went extremely well.
“I had a great visit,” Curren said via Rivals. “I got to know the coaches a lot better, which was something I wanted to do going into the visit.
“The game itself was a highlight as well. I camped there over the summer, but this was my first game. There is a lot of tradition at FSU that made it fun, and there was a lot of energy
in that stadium.”
Curren is the No. 469 prospect in the country and the No. 35 quarterback in the Rivals industry rankings. He's also ranked as the No. 37 recruit in the state of California.
Before FSU beat Central Arkansas, Curren was able to spend time with head coach Mike Norvell, assistant wide receivers coach Brady White, and general manager John Garrett. He also got to chop it up with quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker before and after the game.
That, on top of the Seminoles picking up a win, has helped Florida State move up a bit for Curren.
“I do feel better about them because I could see myself playing for that staff,” Curren said. “I’m confident I could really develop under them. Distance is not an issue; I’m just looking for the best all-around fit.”
Curren has made it clear that despite where Florida State is as a program, they're one of his top schools. They're in a group with programs such as the California Bears, Arizona Wildcats, Florida Gators, Arkansas Razorbacks, Iowa Hawkeyes, West Virginia Mountaineers, and more.
The next step for FSU is to continue building their relationship with Curren, and they need to get him back on campus as soon as they can.
