Florida State is in search of its first cornerback commit in the 2027 recruiting cycle. One of the top targets for the Seminoles is three-star prospect Daveon Belhomme out of Clearwater, Florida.
The 6-foot-1, 186-pounder is rising up the recruiting ranks, and he recently got an offer
and locked in a visit with FSU in November. According to Matt LaSerre of Warchant, the Seminoles are gaining good momentum in their efforts to get him to commit. As of now, it seems like the Seminoles are gaining traction with Belhomme, as the Clearwater Catholic product has set a visit to Florida State for the N.C. State game, shortly after being offered on Thursday.
Belhomme’s recruitment has taken off over the last few weeks, as he has gained Power Four offers
from the likes of Ole Miss, Auburn, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.
He's the No. 998 overall recruit in the country and the No. 107 cornerback in the Rivals industry rankings. Belhomme is also the No. 97 ranked player in Florida.
While they have done a good job making their presence known in his recruitment thanks to some personal ties, Florida State still has an uphill battle when it comes to Belhomme.
Belhomme visited FSU earlier this cycle, as he was on campus for a spring practice back in April. Sources close to the talented cornerback tell Warchant that Florida State has a good chance, but there is still a lot of work to do in this one. We have learned that there is a close personal connection between one of Belhomme’s representatives and an FSU staff member, which could play a big factor.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as FSU looks to improve their prowess in recruiting, which has been a struggle over the last several years.
