The Florida State Seminoles did not receive any votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 1 of the 2026 college football season. FSU received 12 votes in the preseason poll, the 40th most in the country.
While they won their Week 0 game against the New Mexico State Aggies
, the Seminoles lost 27-24 to the SMU Mustangs on Sunday. The Mustags rose three spots to No. 17 after picking up the win in Doak Campbell Stadium.The Miami Hurricanes are still the highest-ranked ACC team, staying put at No. 7. The Virginia Cavaliers were the third and final ACC team to crack the top 25, tying with the Florida Gators at No. 25
Six different ACC teams received votes, with the Louisville Cardinals leading the way with 125 points. They were joined by the Pitt
Panthers (14), Virginia Tech Hokies (11), Duke Blue Devils (4), Clemson Tigers (3), and North Carolina Tar Heels (2). Clemson was the only team to fall out of the top 25.
FSU is set to play four more ranked teams this year. Up first is the No. 12 Alabama Crimson Tide, with the Seminoles traveling to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 19 after their bye this weekend. They will also play Virginia, Miami, and Florida.
