The FSU Seminoles are looking to pull off the upset when they welcome the No. 19 SMU Mustangs to Doak Campbell Stadium for their first ACC game of the 2026 college football season.
FSU (1-0) opened their season with a 34-17 win over the New Mexico State Aggies in Week 0, giving them a chance to work out some kinks before their first test of the season. The Mustangs did not get the same chance, but did get the chance to watch film on FSU, giving them a chance to tighten up their game plan.
Mike Norvell and the rest of FSU's coaching staff have had plenty to work on over the past week after both sides of the ball struggled at times against New Mexico State. One thing that could be in their favor is the weather. The forecast currently calls for rain
during the game, something that could favor a team looking to run the ball.
While SMU also wants to run the ball and has a talented running back in Kendric Raphael, the Seminoles have proven they can run the ball this year. FSU ran for 217 yards and three touchdowns last week, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. Getting Ousmae Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr. going could be what they need to get the win.
