Florida State football is looking to get off to a good start in the 2026 season after back-to-back miserable seasons. A 2-10 year followed by a 5-7 one has this team thinking about returning to a bowl.
After spring practice, the Seminoles ranked 29th out of 138 teams. In his new re-rank of all 136 FBS teams in the country, Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports moved Florida State down to No. 47. They remain unranked in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but did receive some votes.
Surrounding the Seminoles are the No. 46 East Carolina Pirates and No. 48 Kansas State Wildcats. The Pirates went 9-4 last season and made an appearance in the Go Bowling Military Bowl against Pittsburgh and won, 23-17. Kansas State went 6-6 and did not make a bowl appearance.
Florida
State is the eighth-best ACC team per Myerberg's rankings, behind the Miami Hurricanes at No. 8. SMU is not far behind at No. 16, with both looking to win the ACC in 2026.
FSU will look to right the ship when they welcome the New Mexico State Aggies to Tallahassee on Saturday. Fans can catch the game on the CW Network at 7 p.m. ET.
