Things around the Florida State football program will look a lot different in 2027 now that head coach Mike Norvell and a few other position coaches were let go on Sunday after losing to the Clemson Tigers.
In times like these, the recruiting aspect becomes extremely important, seeing as prospects that are committed have established relationships and deep bonds with certain staff members. In the case of 2027 three-star edge Anthony Cavallaro, he thinks very highly of Norvell, and he's been committed to the program since January.
With that said, Cavallaro has made it clear that his commitment is firm as he plans to stay in Tallahassee.
"It's very unfortunate losing an amazing coach like that in a program but I've been a Seminole since January and
I'm still a Seminole now my commitment isn't changing. Go Noles 🍢🍢," Cavallaro told Zach Blostein of 247Sports.
The 6-foot-5, 229-pounder is the No. 363 recruit and the No. 33 edge according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He's the No. 33 prospect in the state of Florida as well.
Cavallaro shut down his recruitment back in May after an official visit. Him reaffirming his commitment after such a big shakeup in the coaching staff is a big win for FSU with the early signing period coming in December.
