The Miami Dolphins have released former FSU linebacker Cam Riley, announcing the newson Sunday. NFL teams had to trim their rosters to 53 on Sunday, and he was one of the final cuts ahead of the deadline.
He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent. He joined the Tennessee Titans practice squad in December of 2025 before he was waived this April. He then signed with the Dolphins on Aug. 16, but just two weeks later is looking for a new home.
Riley played in two preseason games for Miami, recording 11 tackles and breaking up a pass. If he clears waivers, he will have the option of joining another team's roster or practice squad.
He spent the 2025 season with the Seminoles after starting
his career with the Auburn Tigers. He played in all 12 games, finishing the season with 47 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and a forced fumble. He played in 60 games during his five-year collegiate career, recording 167 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, and three pass breakups.
Riley was not the only Seminole to be waived ahead of the season. The Los Angeles Chargers waived quarterback DJ Uiagalelei on Sunday, and the Arizona Cardinals waived running back Trey Benson last Monday.
