Florida State’s trip to Tuscaloosa to face the Alabama Crimson Tide will be one of the most closely watched games of Week 3.

ranked the Seminoles’ road matchup against Alabama as the No. 6 game to watch on the Week 3 college football schedule, placing it among a slate headlined by a matchup between LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels and an ACC showdown between the SMU Mustangs and Louisville Cardinals.Florida State and Alabama will kick off Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game is a rematch of last season’s opener, when the Seminoles defeated the Crimson Tide, 31-17, in Tallahassee.
The circumstances are considerably different this time around.
Florida State enters the matchup following an open week
after splitting its first two games. The Seminoles opened with a 34-17 victory over New Mexico State before falling 27-24 to SMU on Labor Day.
Alabama, meanwhile, improved to 2-0 with a 45-17 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats in Week 2. Alexander noted that the Crimson Tide trailed at halftime before taking control, limiting Kentucky to only 62 total yards after the break.
One player Alexander highlighted for Florida State was running back Ousmane Kromah, who has rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns through the Seminoles’ first two games. Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell also presents another challenge for the FSU defense because of his ability to create plays with his legs.
For Mike Norvell and the Seminoles, the trip offers an opportunity to reproduce one of last season’s biggest victories — this time on Alabama’s home field.
