FSU Seminoles star running back Ousmane Kromah is done for the season after suffering an ankle/foot injury against the Miami Hurricanes, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
Kromah suffered the injury in the second quarter of FSU's 43-35 loss to the Hurricanes. The sophomore broke several tackles to get FSU to Miami's two-yard line, but got twisted up when he was tackled. He attempted to get off the field, but was unable to put any weight on his left leg and eventually went down, with FSU's medical staff putting an air cast on his left leg and carting him off the field.
It is a disappointing end for Kromah, who was enjoying a breakout season as FSU's No. 1 running back. His 609 yards are the third most in the ACC, with him adding five touchdowns
and averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He also has 11 receptions for 97 yards.
He is the second FSU running back to suffer a serious injury this season, with Samuel Singleton Jr. also down. He has not played since FSU's Week 3 game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The duo was FSU's top two running backs to start the season, and the Seminoles are suddenly extremely thin at running back.
Transfer Quintrevion Wisner and true freshman Amari Thomas are the only other running backs to log carries this season. Wisner will likely step into a starting role; the veteran has 38 carries for 204 yards and 12 receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown. Thomas has three carries for 11 yards.
FSU has no proven depth behind them, with the Seminoles recently dismissing Gemari Sands. They can also lean on quarterback Ashton Daniels, who leads the ACC with 11 rushing touchdowns to go with 354 yards on 79 carries.
