Florida State basketball could be looking to its past for part of its look in the future. Head coach Luke Loucks took to social media recently to gauge fan interest in bringing back one of the Seminoles’ older white uniforms, asking whether FSU should revive the throwback look for the 2026-27 season.

Loucks later added his own endorsement of the design. “This was a great era of jerseys,” Loucks wrote. “Tribal print outline is clean.”
The white uniforms featured Seminole-inspired patchwork detailing around the
jersey, a design element that has appeared across Florida State athletics in different forms. FSU’s modern uniform identity has incorporated patterns developed in collaboration with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, with the university describing the designs as monochromatic representations of Seminole patchwork symbols.
Loucks’ posts do not amount to an official announcement that the throwbacks will return, but his acknowledgment that the program is “working on ideas” leaves the possibility open as FSU prepares for his second season as head coach.
Any potential throwback would also arrive during a year in which the Seminoles’ uniforms are already undergoing another noticeable change. Florida State announced in August that ReliaQuest will become the men’s basketball program’s official jersey patch partner beginning in 2026-27, the first jersey patch sponsorship in FSU Athletics history.
Loucks has made fan engagement a visible part of his return to Tallahassee, and this time he is giving supporters a chance to weigh in on what the Seminoles could wear.
For now, the throwback remains an idea rather than a confirmed uniform. Judging by Loucks’ posts, however, bringing an old Florida State look back onto the court is at least under consideration.
