Florida State delivered its most impressive performances of the season Saturday, cruising to a dominant 38-7 victory over Virginia at Doak Campbell Stadium.
After falling behind 7-0 in the opening quarter, the Seminoles responded with 38 unanswered points, improving to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in ACC play while earning a much-needed conference victory for head coach Mike Norvell.
Despite the lopsided victory, not every individual performance received favorable marks from Pro Football Focus. While several Seminoles earned impressive grades, others struggled in specific areas or received lower evaluations despite the team's overall success.
Here are Florida State's five lowest-graded players from Saturday's victory over Virginia, according to PFF.
5. Nehemiah Chandler (CB): 50.6
Chandler
rounded out the bottom five with a 50.6 overall defensive grade across 25 snaps. Tackling proved particularly problematic in PFF's evaluation, as he received a 26.9 grade in that category alongside a 49.2 coverage grade.
4. Judah Daniels (DL): 41.8
Daniels received a 41.8 overall defensive grade, although his evaluation came from an extremely limited sample of six snaps. He earned a 52.8 run-defense grade and a 58.9 tackling grade during his brief appearance.
3. Mikai Gbayor (LB): 40.3
Gbayor played 43 defensive snaps but finished with a 40.3 overall grade, making him one of FSU's lowest-graded defenders despite the dominant team performance. His most significant struggles came in coverage, where he received a 29.6 grade, and tackling, where he earned a 37.4.
2. Franklin Whitley (DE): 37.0
Whitley finished with the lowest defensive grade of any Seminole, earning a 37.0 overall mark across just nine defensive snaps. His 27.6 tackling grade contributed to the evaluation, although he posted a considerably stronger 66.5 pass-rushing grade.
1. Landen Thomas (TE): 33.5
Thomas received Florida State's lowest overall offensive grade at 33.5 despite playing 38 snaps. His struggles were particularly evident as a blocker, earning a 36.8 run-blocking grade and a 33.7 pass-blocking grade.
