Florida State defeated New Mexico State in an admittedly ugly 34-17 win. While there were certainly concerns on both sides of the ball, there were some positives from last night's game.
Indeed, the Seminoles' run game was without question the bright spot of the offense. With 217 total yards of rushing offense and 202 total yards of passing offense, there is an argument to be made that this team will center around a running back-by-committee style offense.
With all of this in mind, here are our players of the game.
RB Ousmane Kromah
Kromah was a bright spot last night, going for 115 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. His longest rush of 52 yards helped the team establish the run on a night that, offensively, they felt stifled. He and Samuel Singleton Jr. likely
will score many more touchdowns this season. And speaking of Singleton...
RB Samuel Singleton Jr.
Singleton was perhaps the best player of the night, going for nine carries and four receptions for 96 total yards and two touchdowns. His 35-yard reception at the end of the first half provided a much-needed spark when FSU needed to go up by 10 instead of just three. He also had a long kick return to set up a touchdown.
Cornerback Quindarrius Jones
Jones managed one interception this game, the only pick by FSU all game. While the cornerback and safety play was not great, he kept the game from being closer than it needed to be.
