Like most coaches in charge of a football program, Mike Norvell does not have the chance to spend a lot of time online, especially with him preparing for the Florida State Seminoles to play the No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend on the road.
That caused him to miss the discussion about his job security on Tuesday after a video of a moving truck parked outside his house was posted on X. Despite it making little sense for him to be packing up his house in the early parts of the season, no matter how hot his seat is, that did not stop people from speculating that he might be getting fired sooner rather than later.

Norvell was unaware of these rumors and had a laugh at them when he was asked about
them on Wednesday at his press conference ahead of their matchup with Alabama.
"Oh, that's awesome," Norvell said. "I don't look a whole lot online, you know, but I don't. For me, it's all of our focus is on this team, and that's where I live."
While he got a laugh out of it, he proceeded to acknowledge that FSU has struggled over the past few seasons but that they have the chance to get things back on track this weekend. Norvell later explained that the truck was delivering a desk for his daughter, according to Noles247.
"There's gonna be plenty of speculation. There can be plenty of things that are out there," he said. "I get the opportunity to show up every day, bring the right attitude, bring the right mentality, bring the right work, pouring into this team, pouring into these players, and I believe in that.
"There have been disappointing results, and I've never sat here and tried to make an excuse, not once since I've been here... This is a result-oriented business. Our results have not been as good as what we want them to be. But I believe in the process. I believe in the work. I believe in the players I get to coach, and we get to go be better."
It will be tough, but FSU has a chance this weekend to quiet that speculation by upsetting Alabama, which is exactly what they did last season. The major difference between this game and that one is that that game was in Doak Campbell Stadium, and this one will be played on the road, where FSU has not won since 2023.
