The Florida State Seminoles hosted the Virginia Cavaliers and defeated them soundly by a score of 38-7 on Saturday in Doak Campbell Stadium.
While FSU did not receive any votes in the AP Top 25 after Week 5, three ACC teams are now ranked. The Miami Hurricanes are at No. 4 after beating Clemson 41-13. The SMU Mustangs are still kicking at No. 24. Pittsburgh also finds itself rounding out the group at No. 25. In addition, it's now down to just Duke and Wake Forest finding themselves in the "others receiving votes" category.
Texas still holds the No. 1 spot after a bye week. Georgia stays at No. 2, along with Notre Dameat No. 3. Miami stays at No. 4 while Ohio State and Alabama now round out the top six. The biggest risers, Missouri, climbed up
11 spots to No. 14 after taking down then-No. 8 Florida. The Gators are now No. 16, as they were the biggest fallers of the week.
FSU will look to try to break into the top 25 when they take on the Louisville Cardinals (2-3, 1-2 ACC) at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. They have a chance to get into the "others receiving votes" category if they can take care of business against the Cardinals.
The game will air on ESPN on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. ET.
