Despite not having a good 2025 season overall, Florida State had one of the best offenses in the country last year. Former quarterback Tommy Castellanos, who is trying to play one more year in college, had limitations with his height and ability to throw the ball accurately.
The Seminoles did average 253.4 yards in the air last season, and it was thanks to a few big-time performers at the wide receiver spot. Of course, like any season, the room won't look the same in 2026 with several guys gone, but multiple key returns and talented newcomers still make the receiver group an exciting one.
With fall camp in full force, let's take a look at where FSU sits at receiver.
WR Departures
- Squirrel White: White was one of the transfer additions in 2025 that the Seminoles were the highest on after he came over from the Tennessee Volunteers. It started off with a bang as he hauled in a huge catch against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the season opener, but it quickly faded. White dealt with a wrist injury that sidelined him for a few games, and he only caught four more passes all season. White signed with the Chicago Bears after going undrafted, but shockingly retired in May.
- Lawayne McCoy: McCoy had a solid sophomore year in Tallahassee, with his 396 receiving yards ranking third on the team, and he was tied for second in receptions and touchdowns. McCoy decided to hit the transfer portal and committed to the Louisville Cardinals. This was the biggest blow to the room entering 2026.
- Elijah Moore: Moore came into FSU with high expectations as a four-star prospect. That potential never came about with the Seminoles as Moore logged just five receptions for 69 yards in 14 games. He transferred to the Syracuse Orange.
- BJ Gibson: Gibson was another four-star recruit that Florida State had high hopes for. He played in 11 games in two seasons, but his two receptions for 14 yards came as a freshman. After five games in 2025, Gibson left the football program to focus on baseball.
Incoming WRs
- Devin Carter: Carter is a legacy prospect for the Seminoles who committed as a four-star prospect after decommitting from the Auburn Tigers. His ability to keep his speed throughout his breaks, create separation, and track the football makes him a potential huge addition to the room. He'll get plenty of playing time as a freshman.
- Jasen Lopez: Lopez is another four-star recruit that committed to FSU after a stellar high school career. He logged four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons and four straight seasons of double-digit touchdowns at Chaminade-Madonna High School. He's a precise route runner who can create a ton of separation and gain big chunks of yards after the catch. Lopez also brings special teams skills as a punt returner. He'll also play a lot as a freshman just like Carter.
- EJ White: White was an outstanding athlete at Vero Beach High School and committed as a four-star prospect. He played quarterback and running back, but he'll focus on wide receiver at Florida State. He'll need to add some weight and get stronger, but White has a ton of potential.
- Darryon Williams: Williams is another big-time athlete out of Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. He logged snaps at receiver and on defense, but the 5-foot-11, 165-pounder brings another exciting element to the receiver room. Much like White, he'll need to get bigger and be consistent to rise up the depth chart.
- Brandon Bennett: Bennett is a three-star addition with a ton of speed. He could possibly end up a redshirt candidate along with White and Williams, but Bennett is certainly a player to keep an eye on.
- Jonah Winston: Winston is another legacy recruit as the younger brother of former Heisman winner and national champion Jameis Winston. The three-star prospect will have to scratch and claw to make his way up the depth chart, but he has some talent.
- Keenen Jeune: Jeune committed to FSU as a preferred walk-on back in February. He's a local kid as he played at Florida State University High School in Tallahassee. He racked up 46 receptions for 759 yards and five touchdowns as a senior.

Robinson is coming off an All-ACC year as he finished with 56 receptions for 1,081 yards and six scores. He's undoubtedly the No. 1 option as the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder is a matchup nightmare. Danzy averaged 21.1 yards per catch a season ago as his speed tortured opposing defenses. All he needs to do is refine some things, and he'll be an even bigger star. Boggs originally entered the transfer portal, but he came back to build on the nine receptions for 103 yards and one touchdown he had after battling injuries and missing four games. His potential is through the roof, and if he can stay healthy, he'll be a huge contributor.
Gelsey committed as a four-star prospect in 2025. He played in four games, but didn't log any stats. His 6-foot-4 frame could make him another matchup problem. As mentioned earlier, Carter and Lopez are slotted to be major pieces in Florida State's passing attack in 2026.
Other WRs to know
- Teriq Mallory: Mallory was a three-star commitment in the 2025 class that played in four games last season and caught just one pass for 14 yards. He's another player that could be a force and a matchup issue if he develops at 6-foot-5.
