Florida State football is hoping 2026 is the year they finally get back to winning after consecutive losing seasons under their belt. Treating 6-6 as the floor is just the new standard for Seminoles fans, it seems. A far cry from when the program won 10 or more games in a season consistently under Bobby Bowden.
Paul Myerberg and Ramon Padilla of USA TODAY Sports have released their predicted record for all 138 FBS teams, and the Seminoles have firmly landed in the category of "middle of the pack."
Myerberg and Padilla believe FSU is destined for a 6-6 record in 2026, with a 4-4 ACC record. In 2025, FSU was 5-7 overall with just a 2-6 conference record. Which means, for this to become reality, they'll have to win a road game. This is something
they have not done in two years.
The Miami Hurricanes sit atop the ACC with a 10-2 overall record and an 8-1 conference record. They expect the Boston College Eagles to finish last in the ACC, going 1-7 in conference play and 3-9 overall.
FSU opens its 2026 season against the New Mexico State Aggies on Aug. 29. Fans can catch the game on the CW Network at 7 p.m. ET.
