FSU baseball players have gone on to have extremely successful careers in the big leagues, and Jamie Arnold of the Athletics was recently promoted to Triple-A and will now play for the Las Vegas Aviators as he climbs towards the MLB.
Arnold is ranked as the No. 57 overall prospect by MLB.com, and as the No. 3 prospect for the Athletics. With the Double-A team, the Midland RockHounds, he posted an ERA of 3.42.
Drafted in 2025 with the 11th overall pick, Arnold has quickly established himself as a good-to-great minor league pitcher. In 118 1/3 innings pitched, he has allowed 119 hits, 58 runs, and just nine home runs. The lefty has struckout 130 batters and walked 51.
Arnold made his debut for the Aviators on Tuesday, throwing five shutout innings
after allowing four hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
At Florida State, Arnold was dominant. A consensus All-American his junior year, team captain, and First-Team All-ACC, the pitcher helped lead FSU to their second-straight Super Regional appearance, their first time doing that since 2015-17.
