The FSU Seminoles will not play during Week 2 of the college football season.

After their 27-24 loss to the SMU Mustangs on Monday, the Seminoles are on their first bye of the 2026 season. FSU is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in ACC play, having lost their last three ACC openers under head coach Mike Norvell.

The Seminoles are about to enter a crucial stretch of the season. They will hit the road to play the Alabama Crimson Tide next week, a game they are the heavy underdogs in. While they follow it up against the Central Arkansas Bears, they will then play the Virginia Cavaliers, Louisville Cardinals, and Miami Hurricanes in consecutive weeks.

They have struggled in their first two games of the season, with the offense finding no success through the air.

Ousmane Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr. have had an excellent start to the season, giving the Seminoles a needed 1-2 punch at running back.

The defense has also had plenty of issues, with the defensive line struggling to get pressure and the secondary having far to many busts. The linebacker room has also taken a hit, with promising true freshman Izayia Williams set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
