The FSU Seminoles came so close to pulling off the massive upset against the Miami Hurricanes, but were unable to complete it, losing 43-35 in double overtime.
Adding insult to injury, Miami is now the No. 1 team in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll, climbing two spots after both teams ahead of them lost. They were not the only one of FSU's rivals to climb in the rankings, the Florida Gators are now the No. 24 team after upsetting the Texas Longhorns, who were No. 6.
Two other ACC rivals saw their rankings improve, with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons now ranked No. 19 after dominating the Cal Golden Bears. The SMU Mustangs, who beat FSU in Week 1 by a field goal, moved up two spots to No. 20 after beating the Virginia Cavaliers.
The Gators are currently
the only ranked team that FSU is set to play the rest of the season. The Seminoles are 0-3 against ranked teams this season. FSU will play Pittsburgh, but the Panthers received just four votes and appear to be trending down after losing their starting quarterback for the season.
